France approves 8 biotech crop trials

(July 23, 2002 -- CropChoice news) -- The French Ministry of Agriculture approved 8 applications for open field tests of biotech crops. That brings the total number of test plots in France to 41, most of which are corn. Two male-sterile corn hybrids and a high-digestibility corn are slated for testing this year. Monsanto and the French company Biogemma are conducting most of the open field research programs in France.
