South Dakota farmer, Monsanto settle seed patent lawsuit

(May 9, 2002 – CropChoice news) – Corona, S.D. farmer Bill Schuler reportedly settled a lawsuit that Monsanto brought against him in July 2001. The company alleged that he violated the patent on its transgenic seed technology. His lawyer declined to comment, citing a confidentiality agreement in the settlement.
