Canadian appeals judge gives Monsanto, Aventis a break

(July 31, 2002 -- CropChoice news) -- A Saskatchewan Court of Appeal judge has ruled that Monsanto and Aventis can continue with their appeal of a lower court requirement that they file statements of defense in a lawsuit that organic farmers have brought. The farmers seek damages for the contamination from genetically modified canola that has made it impossible for them to grow organic canola.
